Keeping preoccupied…

So, I feel bad for not being active with my blogging. I am constantly thinking of things to blog about, and I even write them down! Part of the issue is time. I had my first full night of sleep last night. I know that once that becomes really consistent….like asap, I will be able to spend more time on the blog.

But I am going to show you a few of my recent projects. I think the best part about Daisy’s is that the word garden(in a nut shell it was added to make the site easier to find instead of something like Daisy’s baby accessories (dot) com) reminds me of a varying array of different flowers….therefore I feel it gives me license to have a variety of topics on my blog.

A few weeks ago, I was telling a girl friend what the purpose of my blog is. It is to give us moms and/or women the encouragement that we can do anything because God has given us strength. (Phil. 4:13). As an early educator, I also feel I can help make those first few years of school easier on you (start by taking out the crayons, Ladies! Try it, colouring is a great stress reliever). So all in all, I want this to be a place where you can come for ideas, inspiration & encouragement in your daily lives.

I hope that you feel that way when you finish reading each post.

So here’s what has been “preoccupying” me:

Use a empty cereal box to control the glitter!

Glitter!

We were so close to spring!

The finished curtains. They are the first piece of the living room design, so don't mind the couch slipcover. It'll be white with fancy cushions soon enough.

Close up of new living room curtains...the pattern is a bit bold and slightly 'grandma' ish, but I like it.

The crafts aren’t that complex. Toddlers are very capable of one step art projects. In this case, we put glue on the foam shapes, and then sprinkled on the glitter. Two steps, however the glitter is just so exciting how could one resist?!

The curtains were made using this tutorial I found on Pinterest. What did we do before Pinterest? I know, read a book, or talked to our husbands before going to bed…not saying that I don’t do those things…

I have used satin ribbon, grosgrain ribbon and finally made 2″ wide tabs from the cream fabric on the living room curtains. The later was the best way. They just seem to hold the shape of faux pleats better.

And in case you have really long windows….don’t spend $80.00+ on rods like I did!!!

Isn’t that brilliant? I know…I wish I’d known too!

My goal is to blog at least twice a week until this sleep thing gets settled. I’ll let you know how that goes…

P.S. I just found this….
