Easter week, Day 2

Today, the girls went to visit their Nana. That being said, while I know they did Easter things there, I have yet to discover what they were. They get to have a sleep over. So I will let you know all about those exciting crafts and snacks tomorrow.

But for today, I wanted to share something with all my readers that has been of great help to myself.

Rest.

That word can take on many meanings for many people. For me, I like to just go for a walk. And well, since last Thursday’s epic snow storm (which I drove home in by the way! And shoveled for the first time in 4 years…yeah, that was painful!) there hasn’t been much walking outside. It’s pretty rough out there still and rather icy.

So off to the mall I went. After a Chiropractor appointment and a brief stop to consign some baby clothes, we made it.

In case you can’t get out to the mall, let me fill you in on a few things I learned today:

1. It’s spring break here…don’t set out to the mall in the first place. But if you must, leave anyone at home that may protest crowds, or those you may have to strap into a stroller to keep from running away.

2. Don’t give in to the “Neon Craze”. I was blinded (haha!) by all the bright colors. And we aren’t just talking a rainbow of kindergarten primaries. We are talking hello 1986 Neon. Yup…it happened again to me (first leggings, which I love)-a trend repeating itself in my lifetime. Wow….O-L-D!

3. Elevators are overrated. That’s why West Ed needed to close all by two elevators on this high traffic day.

4. Window shopping is far better. You may find some things you need…and some pretty things, that will just get broken in your house..take a photo, and move on:)

5. Lastly, Smile. I couldn’t believe how many people didn’t look happy. Let your face show your happiness people!

OK…here’s my trip in pictures!

These were from Pottery Barn. I just swoon every time I go in there.  Now it would be nice to have a Pottery Barn Kids….oh boy, that would be trouble!

I rarely ever buy anything in Anthropologie over $10.00. I feel like things are a bit overpriced in there….especially because I just bought a chalkboard jar and three strawberry ceramic baskets at Michaels….for $20.00, which was the price of the larger Anthropologie baskets. But a job well done to the store’s stylist!

I have recently become a fan of shopping at the Bay. I like that I can go there and have choices from a variety of top end brands and get great sales on them too. Lately I have bought new leggings (more on that adventure later!) and Jockey Shapewear….don’t jump all over me for “not needing it”. I feel better about still not having lost baby weight and not fitting into my jeans well. With it, I can accomplish both of those things better. And yes, less Ice Cream helps! 🙂

First on my stop today was West Coast Kids. We have some new friends who are due with their first baby, so I was scouting out some great things for gift giving for them. A first baby or a first gender in the family is always fun to shop for:) And it wouldn’t have been complete without some swooning at the PPB bags. Hopefully babysteals.com will have some of the leftovers from the Spring Outlet sale soon…if so, I think I know what prints I like from last season. Because I “need” another bag, right?

After all this, I was tired and needed a pick me up…I felt like I burned a lot of calories with all this walking! So off to Starbucks to replace the calories I had just lost. I know, don’t drink your calories.

What did you do today?
