Here is the second instalment in our crafty ideas for Valentine’s day!
Now Lil’ A just likes to cut, tear paper and maybe try the stapler for a few punches, so I usually end up finishing all the projects I am going to show you this week and next.
I saw this idea at Michael’s actually. It was on a sheet of paper hanging by the foam shapes, oddly enough.
It is a Valentine’s Mailbox. I remember decorating the little envelopes in Elementary School to hang off my desk. It was a fun activity from my childhood. I also always liked to play “mail”. My brother and I would set up a post office in our basement quite often. (Sorry, Buddy…the secret is out…lol!)
So, here are the supplies you need:
-Shoe Box or other box with a lid
-Valentine’s coloured paper.
-double sided tape (I found it held better)
-Valentine’s foam shapes (I like the ones that already have the sticky backs. And peeling off the paper is a fine motor skill that’s great for toddlers!)
-knife (to cut slot for cards)
Directions:
1. Lay paper around the box and cut around it to fit to the box.
2. Attach the paper to the box with the double-sided tape.
3. Cut out the slot
4. Decorate! This was the part in the craft that Lil’ A loved! I did have to help guide her a bit to put the stickers on. She did try and seal the box shut.
5. Fill the box with love notes to your family members. I am trying to teach Lil’ A that words (or pictures in her case) are important to show others how you care. I’ll let you know how that goes:)
In other news…
I have just finished hanging this:

I’m pretty excited to see how it turns out. Ours will be shades of pink for our glittery, pinkalicious girls!
And I also made Lil’ E a Valentine’s tutu. I forgot to take a photo today, so watch for it later this week. Oh, it’s super cute! I’ll have to get out my camera.
Happy Thursday!
