Who just loves, “The Sound of Music”? I have a friend who recently got to go to Austria and take the Sound of Music tour. That would be amazing. I am really hoping my girls will like it too…and it’s a secret, but the Mister likes that movie too. (His mom was a nun!)
I thought I would share with you today a “few of my favorite things” (In no particular order)
1. My Keurig Machine

I really don’t know how I used to start my day…probably with a bad cup of coffee:)
2. Dry Shampoo
I have quite the collection of ones I’ve tried. But this one is my favorite. It’s a bit expensive but I think it’s worth it, as you don’t have to use as much as drugstore brands (although I use those too for days when I don’t have to go anywhere important).

3. Snack Traps

Life saver in the terms of keeping the cheerios in the right spot-not on my floor and inbetween my toes (no one in my house wears socks at home:) I have tried a few other brands and while they don’t let the contents out in your bags, once a toddler gets the cup, it’s all over. These snack traps are great! I get mine at Wee Love Baby Boutique
4. Petunia Pickle Bottom
Oh…what can I say? I really love these bags. Being a momma of three (ok, that might have been the first time I’ve used the phrase!), I carry around a lot of other people’s things. I considered just carrying a purse and diaper bag to make more room in my diaper bag…but that is one more thing to lose. So I got all this birthday money and thought I was going to actually use it on myself this time. So I bought this:

I don’t have it yet…Canadians are so behind in getting things to their customers I find. PPB doesn’t ship to Canada from their website. Boo! Apparently they are working on it. I hope so-because I really am excited to maybe pick up some of their smaller accessories in their new Outlet sale. Otherwise, my American friends may have some of my purchases coming their way 🙂
5. A summer’s eve
I truly enjoy sitting on our back deck and just watching the sunset. While I wish I was looking out to a big field of wild flowers (I’m a country girl at heart I think), we have a very, very nice backyard. All landscaped. I am so glad I found it. (Yes, that’s right, I should have been paid some commission!)
6. My Ribbon Collection
I use ribbon all the time. For pretty much something every day. Hair, presents, hairbows, trim on skirts. The list is endless. I have a whole wall and a few small bins of ribbon. I try to buy it only on sale (because you can get some very good sales at Michael’s. They have to-who is going to pay their regular prices?). My newest sources online though, are: The Ribbon Retreat and Canada Tulle (Look at these sites and you know there is a markup! And a very large markup!)
7. Ruffles
I surf pinterest way too much! I am addicted. I may need to start a support group….oh wait…I already have-it’s my fellow Pinterest Followers! And I usually pin everything with Ruffles. Here are some of the things around my house that I have made with Ruffles:
I also have a pink version of this in my bathroom:

8. Anne of Green Gables
Seriously? Do I need to explain this one? I first watched this movie in 1987 I believe. I was 5. My mom taped it using the VCR (yes, Lil’ A asked me what that was!) and I wore out those tapes. CBC Family Hour…nothing good and wholesome ever comes on TV anymore. It’s rare. But I still have my tapes…actually someone bought me the real VHS ones when I was in high school for Christmas because they hated watching the recorded versions (hey-my mom had actually paused the recording at every commercial, so for the record, it was commercial free!) But now I have the DVD version, thanks to the Mister. (Who has watched it only once…with one eye opened:)

9. Vintage Lace
Again, I have sourced a good place to find “vintage-like” lace online. I decorated with it this past fall and at Christmas. I need to use up what I have now. I just like to look at it. Although, I need a good way to display it all.
10. A Good Book
I recently just finished “Safe Haven” by Nicholas Sparks (first book I read on my new iPad mini!), but my favorite author is Karen Kingsbury. I have now read almost all her books, so I need to find another good Christian author to read between her books. Any suggestions? (I am not into mysteries though).

I really enjoyed this book…It had a very unpredictable ending (in my opinion.)
I will admit, I find it really hard to read non-fiction. It takes me forever to finish a non-fiction book unless I skim over parts. I think it has to do with reading 10-15 non-fiction books every 12 weeks during bible school.
OK, that was more than a few. Oops.
What are your favorite things?
