Just Haven’t Seen It Yet

Have you been praying and you still have no answers?
Have you been pouring out your heart for so many years?
Have you been hoping that things would have changed by now?
Have you cried all the faith you have through so many tears?Don’t forget the things that He has done before
And remember He can do it all once moreIt’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it He had the solution before you had the problem
He sees the best in you when you feel at your worst
So in the questioning, don’t ever doubt His love for you
‘Cause it’s only in His love that you’ll find a breakthrough, oh It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (yeah yeah, yeah yeah, oh)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see
We can’t see it yet, but we believe that
He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see
We can’t see it yet, but we believe that It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe (don’t ever lose hope)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are (yes, you are)
Only moments from the break of dawn (Oh)
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)
(You gotta hold on, hold on)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (oh)Just haven’t seen it yet

It’s fascinating that music has such a pull on mankind. We set our lives to it at many points in our lives. Sometimes it’s an anthem to keep us moving ahead. Sometimes it’s marking a milestone. Music can bring up the scariest emotions and the deepest thoughts. It can take us out of the worse depths of meaninglessness and bring us to a place of movement forward.

Demands of life distract us. But at any given moment a song can play over the radio and can make us change course. It can make us move back or forward.

Lately this one “Haven’t Seen It Yet” has moved me. Discouragement and loss of drive have pushed me backwards. I haven’t been able to get words to paper to express the deepest thoughts of my soul. I keep mulling around so many words. I fail to find the strength, the drive to put the pen to paper. There isn’t enough time, I say. There isn’t enough motivation, I feel. The guilt of spending time doing something for me overwhelms me in the busiest moments. Thoughts escape my hand when I go to write them down.

Failure has never been an option. But I sure have been a distracted soul. Making a decision is never easy for me. I always second guess myself.

But. But faith. Faith that I have what I need encompasses my heart. These thoughts overwhelm my soul and make me drive deeper.

Then one day, I heard this song on the radio. And I was amiss. I was overcome with the feelings that can only come from my deep faith and reliance on my Maker. On the firm belief that He does have a plan for me, but that I just have to jump. I still have to decide to move forward. I still have to do the hard work. The penalty for not striving for my goals is the unending disappointment that I never lived up to what I was deeply a believer in. The goals on paper need feet. I am the only one who can give them that.

When you refuse to invest in your future by using the God-given talent He has burned into your soul you cheat those around you. You teach your children it’s ok to just follow some pre-made, “christianesed” pathway. You don’t push for change. Our actions speak louder than our words. The desires and thoughts that keep you up at night and bring you to the verge of tears from feeling overwhelmed by the burden of their message must be made reality.

I may have not seen what is to come. I may not know what the road is ahead. I can’t see the end. I can’t even see the book on the shelf. But I have to. I have to know that is the result. That’s my goal. My desire. My passion. I have to lay aside the guilt. The guilt of not being enough for everyone. I have to trust.

Trust.

Just Breathe. Let the music of your soul be heard.

I just haven’t seen my “it” yet. But I will. I will move forward, no matter what it takes.
