Journals

So, I admit it, I’ve always kept a journal. Always. Since I was about 12. I don’t know if it is because I adore this character:

Even so, journaling has always helped me keep a level head.

It helps me think before I speak and hurt someone.

It helps me deal with the present in a way that in the

future I won’t regret the past.

So when I found this:

…I decided to use it to help me “diffuse” from the day. We all have those  kinds of days. Thursday was mine.

1. Listening: To the sound of crying. Lil’ A poked Lil’ E because Lil’ E was playing with her plastic cupcakes

2. Eating: McDonald’s. I said I’d never be THAT  parent. Well I am. At least once a month.

3. Drinking: Coffee. Again. I seem to be drinking more of that than necessary. I need to drink more water.

4. Wearing: Leggings. Seriously, I really hope they stay in style until my kids are in school. It’s like wearing PJs all day, except everyone thinks you are “trendy”.    Well, everyone at Wal-Mart and the grocery store.

5: Feeling: Tired. I have been watching way too much Grey’s Anatomy dvds at night. If I were asked to pick between drama and comedy, I’d say drama. The story lines are better…ok that’s my opinion, but that’s what journaling is, so no judgement.

6: Weather: Sunny. According to AccuWeather, tomorrow is supposed to be Abundant Sunshine compared to today’s Bright Sunshine. What’s the difference?

7: Wanting: A cleaner. Lil’ A flushed the toilet, but had added too much paper. The toilet overflowed. And it just so happens that the upstairs toilet sits right over the main floor bathroom fan. Yep. A mess. I put on a movie and Lil’ E went in the exersaucer, and I cleaned, and scrubbed because I was mad. Not at my Lil’ A, but at the dumb toilet. Yes, dumb. Remember, I was mad. And she had no idea. And apparently, I don’t either. After a crazy phone call to my calm husband, where I said roof instead of ceiling, he was home to point out that I just needed to turn a knob to stop the water from flowing. Yes, honey, I will do it next time, provided a baby isn’t trying to crawl into the water and see what she can do to help.

8: Needing: Thinking time. Sewing time. Because both of these things help me relax and not be so uptight the next day. I guess that’s classified as “Me Time”, huh?

9: Thinking: About sleeping. Sleeping without thinking, “Will anyone wake up tonight?” “Why won’t Lil’ A use the potty at night?” “Should I just let her wear panties one night and see what happens? No, that equals laundry.” You get the point.

10: Enjoying: Standing out in my backyard watching my little princesses playing together. Lil’ A is pulling Lil’ E in the wagon and they are both squealing with joy. None of the previous 9 points matters, does it?

I don’t really know how linky parties on blogs work. (Like how to set them up) But, if you’d like to leave a link in the comments below to a post where you talk about these 10 journal prompts, I’d love to read your journal:)

Happy Weekend!
