Laundry…

I have a love/ hate relationship with laundry. I find pleasure in properly sorting out the light colors from the darks, whites from the towels, etc, etc. I feel such success when I finish folding a bunch of laundry. I know, odd. But the in-between parts are what annoys me. Remembering to switch the washing machine load to the dryer is the biggest for me. I set the buzzer, but with all the noise at my house (some not asked for i.e. lil’ A and her constant chatter as of late), I never hear it. So some days the laundry sits wet in a closed bowl in my washer. Oh, that aggravates me-but it’s my fault!

Folding-I can say one thing about this. Always get your clothes fresh from the dryer and you won’t have to deal with as many wrinkles. This is especially true for kids clothes and even more true for little girls clothes. Bringing me to a word I don’t like…it’s almost a 4 letter word for me….I-R-O-N. See I can’t even say it, I have to spell it out. I don’t do that (insert “I” word here) if at all possible! My husband has to do his own shirts. I rarely will. I get so frustrated and usually end up burning myself with the amount of steam I use-which again is probably my fault, but I can’t seem to get the clothes pressed well without it! However, I have a system for folding and I really don’t like anyone else folding our clothes. Make my dinner, play with my kids, feed my kids, clean my house, but DO NOT touch my laundry.

Recently we’ve started looking for a bigger home. And I keep looking specifically for the laundry room. Now I am not too sure what I think of the Laundry on the main floor. For Pete’s sake on my main floor there is already enough noise, why add a washer to it? However if it’s in a closed room, it seems better. Then there is the basement laundry. This I am not a fan of. Mainly because right now I carry all the laundry down 2 flights of stairs and all the way back up to fold and put it away. Not fun. But good exercise none the less. Then there is the upper floor laundry. This was something I always thought I wanted until someone mentioned to me about the fact that carting dirty, muddy clothes from my toddlers and preschoolers…and potentially the trend will keep going…all the way upstairs on my clean stairs, down the clean hallway (insert ‘children racing up the stairs to see who gets there first’ marks on the wall) and well not sure that’s a good idea. What do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts on the matter. I am still house shopping…I should say we…we are still house shopping. I think I just get settled in a house and then want to move. More on that thought later…

To go with my new dedication to always posting a photo-here’s one for you. Isn’t this pretty?

In the wee hours of my Saturday, I’ve decided tomorrow might be a good day to go garage sale-ing. I don’t really do it that often, at least once a season. So tomorrow seems like the day. My husband loves it! I think he goes just to uncover some great knick knack…but who really knows.

Cheers,

Krystle
