Aprons & My Creativity

So, here are a few of the projects I’ve been working on. You’ve seen the first apron (at 2t/3t), but the Rosette one is the newest addition to the Lil’ Cooks Collection. It is a 4t/5t. They will both be up in our online store under Accessories this evening. There will more more posted as they become available….hence, as I finish sewing them. The next design is a cute orange and pink birdie appliqued apron.

These photos were from my mini photoshoot with Lil’ A this afternoon. She was being such a little goof-it really was so cute. She started to have a breakdown, as did I…but we made it through and thankfully the photos turned out alright.

The Rosettes look quite big on lil’ A. On a 4 or 5 year old, they look more proportioned.

She kept running away from where we were taking the photos in the kitchen. I think she was trying to keep the apron.

Here is an outfit for one of Lil’ A’s friends for her 1st birthday. I like how it turned out. At first I wanted the top to be longer, however I got the idea to make the bloomers, so it worked perfectly at the size I did it. I do need to get a good chart for dress sizes-although most of them that I have found run too short anyway. This top/dress is 17″ long, however as you can see on lil’ A, it doesn’t go to past her bum. She is about 5 inches taller than the 12-18 month size that the top is, but still I seem to be having this issue with all my pillowcase dresses turning out just a bit too short for the size my current dress chart states is the “correct” size. All little girls are different heights, but there’s gotta be a happy medium.

So that’s what’s been happening in the studio this past week! I’ve got more ideas brewing-stay tuned!
