Up and Down Ideas

So, I’m back. And have just completed and sent out 2 orders of minky baby blankets! Feeling very productive, indeed!

We have yet to add these minky blankets to our website because they just fly out of here faster than we can grab a camera and photograph them. But if you are interested in ordering a blanket with the soft, luscious fabric we designers call “minky”, then please e-mail us (krystle@daisysgarden.ca) and we can whip you up on and have it out the door quite quickly! Right now in stock we have a variety of flannel (the goes well with the minky) and green, ivory, pink, blue and brown minky. Other colors are available, but shipping time varies.

Here are the most recent creations. I do apologize for the “unprofessional” photos. We’ve all been under the weather this past weekend and it was all I could do to find the camera and snap a few photos.

I have been working on a few other projects for myself. Yes, myself. I decided the summer time is a time to relax and do the things you love! So I love to sew, and I’ve had an Amy Butler Bag pattern for about 6 months with the fabric sitting in my “project” drawer. So I decided it was time to start. I’ll post some photos-more professional looking ones-later in the month when it is finished.

I’ve found some really cute dress ideas as of late for Little A. I did do a shirt dress for her. I took one of my husband’s shirts, cut it down and bam a dress for her! Well, actually it wasn’t that fast, but I’ll let you think it was. I’ll have to post photos of that too. Perhaps I should just do one post of just photos in the near future since I’m always saying I’ll post some!

I’m on the hunt for a great new sewing machine. My Singer Simple is getting worn out fast. So if you have any suggestions, let me know. My budget maximum is $500.00 so please no suggestions for the 14,000.00 machine that does everything but my dishes and laundry (but if you have one of those kicking around, I’d pay anything!)

It seems like it’s been a while since I’ve blogged for Daisy’s. So here’s some personal thoughts. Since I love small, local businesses and feel that when, we as entrepreneurs, are more personable with our clients, we have better businesses. Anyway.

I was reading a photographer’s blog this morning. Here is the link :http://christinehopaluk.com/blog/ and I really liked what she said about women. I think women in general have a hard time focusing on themselves once they have families. And with this being summer, we even find it hard to put on shorts never mind swimsuits! I agree with Christine-You are beautiful! If we want our young women and daughters to believe it-we have to live it too! The Bible says that we are examples (Prov. 22:6, 1 Tim 4:12)!

So there’s some food for thought. I must go. There are many projects always on the go and I hear one Little A upstairs. Stop by on facebook or post a comment and let us know you are reading our blog and what you’d like to see featured on it.

Happy Day!

Krystle
