So, it’s been a bit since I posted. Let me just say that I have been learning how to juggle a toddler, a husband, a house, being 6+ months pregnant and a business…oh and a bit of me time thrown in. I know many women can understand this delicate balance and how some things just don’t happen. Regardless, when I do find time to write a post, it seems to really help me relax. Perhaps that’s why I am still enjoying the process of writing my novel. And yes, it’s a process and it isn’t done yet, or even close. However since I am still enjoying it, there is hope that y’all will get to read it someday.<\/p>\n

Like I promised in the last post, here are the photos of my new sewing space. I do share it with my husband from time to time, but for the most part, I do dominate the space. It is still a bit messy, and currently I can not take any photos of it since I have a few projects on the go right now. But I think you get the point.<\/p>\n

The room is skinny at only about 9 feet wide if that. There is a closet on the left wall at the back. That is kind of messy right now, so no photos:) But I think you can get the general set up.<\/p>\n

This basket tower sits between the sewing desk and the printer desk. It houses all my tutu making supplies, as well as mending jobs.<\/p>\n

This peg board is something I’ve wanted for a while. It seems like it is the most common solution to having a lack of space, but still needing all those small tools within reach. I really do love it. Tommy was thrilled that I needed to go to the hardware store to get it and all the attachments. We were bonding over hardware-how romantic:)<\/p>\n

They are seriously the best thing though. So do pick one up for above your desk\/table if you have a lack of space such as mine. I think the whole thing, attachments and all was just over $20.00. The board was even cut for us!<\/p>\n

On this shelf there are books and miscellaneous computer supplies. Underneath I hang my recent finished projects. More as a “you can finish” motivation for other projects for myself:) I am really enjoying “skirt making”, as you can tell by the number of them hanging there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

This is the whole look of my sewing space. There is room on top of the ‘basket tower’ for my laptop (which is where most of my patterns and instructions are). The cupboard above was the answer to moving a large dresser out of the room. It has sewing supplies in the cupboard closest to the window and the other two house my scrapbooking collection. Since it’s full, I need to do some work scrapping and sewing-no new supplies until there is room!<\/p>\n

If you have a lack of space-consider going up. Inexpensive shelves would have worked too with some nice containers, but to me this was cleaner.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And the side view. I really like how it turned out and I do way more crafting than I did before. We all know that though, don’t we? If it’s out, we do it, if it’s packed up, we don’t.<\/p>\n

If you have any questions or would like some storage solutions, ask away! Being a teacher, who was always told my room was so tidy, I have a few tips that might come in handy for you and your kids’ stuff…or maybe just you and your stuff:)<\/p>\n

Photoshop! Wow. What a program. I knew it was great, but I just downloaded the trial (full) version of Photoshop Elements to try and do some editing of an image for lil’ A’s 2nd birthday and I really surprised myself. After some upsetting issues last night of frustration, I went to bed and woke up this morning with a new outlook. So glad I did, since I was able to pull this off:<\/p>\n

I didn’t make the owl, but everything else I did. It might not be much to those of you who already know how to use Photoshop, but for a wanna-be graphics designer (just because you can make really cute things), I was amazed at myself. \u00a0So I might just be making a purchase of this trial program as it works really well for all sorts of things for me from scrapbooking to birthday invitations. I already use Picassa for most of my photo editing, but I might just make a complete switch as I can do so much more to the photos here and with a whole lot more control. I guess it is better sometimes to just buy a program-since usually all the bugs are worked out and it functions much faster. Anyway.<\/p>\n
