So, it’s late, I’ve done what seems like very little today. I guess that’s because everything I did today was tidying up little things. I finished the waist bands on two very cute little skirts for lil’ A’s birthday next week (sigh). And ironed. Ironing is right along side vacuuming-some people say ‘wife abuse’ but I really think that’s an awful saying. So I just say it is just a very awful chore…and trade off and on with my husband.<\/p>\n
That all being said, I really missed my creative side today. I am looking forward to two nice and easy projects tomorrow. I’ll post photos when I’m done.<\/p>\n
If you’ve been reading along with my writing since blogspot (ok, it’s only been a few months, but anyway) you know that I have been working on a piece of fiction. Well, 6 years, 10 months, 14 days & \u00a059857 words later, I’m finished. Friday night I stayed up until 3 am to finish. I had been contemplating the ending for quite sometime. I haven’t had enough time to sit and write it all in one sitting. Now that lil’ A sleeps the night again, I can go back to my “Owl” habits a bit. 7:30am still comes with \u00a0a lot of loud talking from a certain little sweet pea.<\/p>\n
Back to the book. Now, I’m editing. I sent it to a friend who’s been rooting for me all along to finish and felt awful when I started to reread it tonight. Lots of spelling mistakes with all the super fast typing I do. I must always keep up with how fast my brain is cranking out thoughts. That is very hard seeing as I am always thinking, sometimes at a “20 over the limit” speed.<\/p>\n
The neat thing to see is that from when I started the journey of writing this book, I had a very different mind for the book. At the time, I was really questioning my decisions in life in general. The fun part was it’s fiction. I exaggerated a lot, changed a lot. So don’t think, “Oh, I know her, so I know how her books ends”. Well, you don’t.<\/p>\n
More over I really want the book to speak to people. It was really fun for me and brought me to a place of healing in my emotional life and a place of greater understand of how God really does know what he is doing. We really should listen.<\/p>\n
If I keep talking about it, I’ll give it all away-and that wouldn’t be good for book sales. But I will say, the editing process isn’t as fun or as creative because you can’t just write. You have to think about “how” you’ve written and not just what. See, I’m already learning something new!<\/p>\n
I don’t have any fabulous photos to share with you tonight. Hopefully tomorrow. This past weekend, I made a huge list of everything that I need to do. We just installed carpet in the basement and well, now I have to clean. I actual wrote “filter boxes” on my list. More like “sift with a fine tooth comb”…although my husband’s suggestion was a “surprise box” garage sale-every box $10. Must not open until you leave! No returns, exchanges or dropping off on our front lawn! I’m a teacher-a kindergarten teacher at that. We love neat little knick nacks!<\/p>\n
For some reason I feel I could go on and go and tell you about life in general. It may be because I have been by myself a lot lately with lil A. Work has taken T away for a few months. He’s home at night, but often goes to sleep pretty fast. Anyway. I’ll be very ready for a vacation in June!<\/p>\n
Well…I’m off to edit. Hopefully tomorrow brings more creativity. I am really thinking about bringing out the paint for lil’ A. I feel a little courage coming on, as I’ve really missed painting on almost a daily basis being on Maternity leave. Perhaps I’ll post photos!<\/p>\n
